Hatch

A native macOS app for developers and server administrators who want fast, straightforward access to their own servers.

Hatch Project overview

Origin

Hatch grew out of the need to reach personal servers within seconds and with a single click. Since terminal and FTP access usually require switching between separate applications, both workflows were combined in one app.

Requirements

A simple, minimal, and visually calm app for recurring server access – intentionally more approachable than complex tools aimed at absolute power users.

Implementation

Hatch combines server profiles, an SSH terminal, and a Finder-like SFTP file browser. Server status, system information, and Docker management were added over time.

Project scope

Encrypted passwords and SSH keys, server status, Docker management, server commands such as restart, server import and export, bookmarks, file transfers, menu bar integration, ping, traceroute, and additional tools.
